We joined our local 9:12 group who had a chartered bus- I've gotta say when you have little ones taking a bus is the way to go! It was so nice to be able to cuddle and hold Amity the whole way down and back- the girls did AMAZING and Riley Joy had a blast on the bus.
Riley being a big girl on the bus. We snapped a quick picture of her on her own- we were pretty much with her every single second- it felt like 50 years ago- no carseats and all that, she sat on Daddy's lap the whole trip- even took a nap on his lap and fell asleep with him at bedtime.
The youngest patriot there- or one of them! She rode on Mommy the WHOOLE day.
Our other little patriot, running around with the ring sling around her waste to keep her safe.
She fell asleep in the crowd with tons of noise and took a good solid nap! WOW!
The family in front of the capitol building! This was at the very beginning of the protest, it got VERY crowded shortly after this was taken- a few thousand people were there to tell congress how we feel about the changes they want to impose on all of us.
Walking around!
Riley and Daddy in front of the Washington monument
Amity and Mommy walking down the mall. Amity was teething on my scarf- she is teething so hard already and has 5 little teeth buds coming down already... It'll be interesting to see when she cuts her first tooth - RJ didn't untill 10.5mos, maybe AJ'll cut at a more "normal" time.
On the bus Amity getting all ready for bed. The girls did AMAZING! They went to sleep around their normal bedtime (we brought PJ's along) and they slept the rest of the way home and stayed mostly asleep through the transition from bus to car and cart to beds. YAY!
The day was great, long but great. We felt it was important to be there and if this healthcare bill passed we wanted to be able to tell our children that we as a family did our best to keep liberty and the free market alive. But one day of protesting wasn't all we're doing, Ryan particularly has been VERY active in keeping up with current events. And doing his part to educate the public about the consitution...You can check out the organization he is chairman of at
www.LBCCS.org they are currently putting together a curriculum to start doing seminars for private schools and homeschool groups.
I have more to write on this, but I think I'll write a seperate post about this I have fussy children all around me and this really should be a blog post from Ryan as it is very much a part of our family right now. It seems like our freedom in this country is being taken away at a rapid speed. Will be writing more soon!<>
