She's growing too fast! :0(
She started taking her first real steps this week... And she can now stand on her own for extended periods of time. Today after her nap she stood all by herself for a full minute, grinning and clapping with her blanket hanging from her mouth. :0) Today she was also walking around on her knees (not crawling but literally standing up on her knees) it made me laugh.
She is still 20lbs and maybe a hair over 30 inches...She hasn't really gained any weight in over a month...But she's such a busy bee I'm not really worried about it...She had plenty of padding to spare, but she's really starting to thin out and look more like a toddler than a baby. *sigh*
She can now wave and has said "hiii" to the baby in the mirror (while waving) a few times now. She has also mastered the idea of "no" and will shake her head when some thing is offered that she doesn't want (a snack, a kiss, a toy etc.). On the good side of that she understands "NO" and will stop what she is doing and some times move herself away (instead of us having to remove her! :0)
Solids, she has finally taken a serious interest in them, she loves to sit in her highchair eating peas, cheese, cheerios and other fun finger foods... We're still taking it slow but it's exciting to know she can feed herself, a new exciting piece of Independence for her! :0)
Oh and she's fiiinally cutting some teeth!! The top 2 front (especially the left) are cutting through right now, she has been quite miserable with them and I hope it's over soon. She's been sitting with those teeth ready for what feels like forever!!!
A funny story, last night Ryan was holding Riley and I reached up for a kiss (he's tall so yes, I have to reach), Riley was watching very carefully...And as soon as I was done kissing Ryan, Riley leaned down to give me a kiss. After she kissed me Ryan asked her if he could have one too and puckered up his lips. She looked at him and shook her head and buried her face in his shoulder!! He asked 3 more times and she kept shaking her head and then hiding. What a STINKER!
